Friday 28 February
10:35pm
Channel 4
Repeated:
Saturday 01 March
11:45pm
Channel 4
Make sure you tape it!
Details on the show from radiotimes.com:
Psychological illusionist and former magician Derren
Brown uses his unique abilities to anticipate and manipulate people's everyday
reactions. He visits the Tate Gallery with ten students to recreate a recent
psychic experiment, and takes three medical students to the Old Operating Theatre
and attempts to cause them to feel and avoid pain.
On a slightly related matter, the person providing the tape with Mind Control 1, 2 and 3, is now on holiday and therefore cannot make any more tapes until he is back. In the mean time, sit back, relax, and enjoy Derren on Channel 4.
Apologies for the lack of updates, but I am in the process of completely redesigning the website, so my time is currently limited!
Bye for now!

Firstly, a new piece of fan art from Hugo Hadlow who did a painting of Derren for GCSE. Find it here. Thanks Hugo!
Derren has been making some appearances on the TV as of recently.
A transcript of Derren on RI:SE can be found on Derren's other *brilliant* fan
site - here. Thanks Ria
for typing that out!
No doubt you have already read that Derren will be making a brief appearance
on "the Parliamentary Awards 2003" - aired this Saturday - from his
official site. Just
thought I'd mention it!
Derren's new 6 part series starts on Friday 28th February on Channel 4. If you
can't wait that long, you can buy a copy of all of the episodes of Derren's
new 6-part series for very little cost. For more information, please email
me.
Derren has also appeared on born sloppy (channel 4). Have a quick look at born
sloppy's official website for a quick interview with Derren.
Derren's tour is really starting to take off! Please find the
most updated list below...
For all those people living in Peterborough, a little inside info for
you - Derren is planned to perform there sometime in the first week of June.
He is definitely coming although he hasn't confirmed the date as of yet. Another
source tells me it is -likely- to be the 7th, however, we are waiting
for the last word from Derren's management on the actual date.

Finally, Derren has also made it into Front and Loaded
Magazines. I have read both articles and in my opinion you should read
the Loaded magazine at least. It also includes 2 interesting articles
- how to seduce women and how to avoid paying your parking tickets. The parking
tickets article is quite interesting as the method closely resembles that of
the method Derren used in the "dog racing track". (if this is your
first visit to the website and you have no idea what the dog racing track is
... then you really should watch Derren's Mind Control Programs!)
If you are really good with finding things online, you might find the article
typed out on Yahoo!
Groups: derrenbrown - try the 27th Jan. That's all the hints I'm giving
you...!
Thanks for reading,
Si

Just a quick update today. Details of Derren's entire tour can be found on his official site in the news section. I would strongly suggest that if you are interested in seeing Derren live, that you choose the venue best for you and book the tickets NOW!!
*MORE* fanart has been added to the fanart page - thanks to john for that! (Also, the picture uploaded in the last update has now been fully credited - therefore a late thanks goes to patrik who made the last pic.)
No doubt the dedicated fans out there have already read on Derren's official site that Derren has been reading a poem on a recently-released music cd. The site for the cd is http://www.palersproject.com/ and mentions:
"The voices on this track were recorded during National Poetry Week in the UK, October 2002. Derren Brown's website has details of his TV shows, theatre appearances, and publications. The principal backing track to the Glimpses section is an original piece by Sam Cameron entitled Sometimes the Boy Who Has No Friends Loses his Patience and Wins and comes from his album, Significantly Different from Zero. "
To save you time, click here to download the 480Kb mp3 example of derren on the cd. (thanks to Roland for this information about the site)
Also, a nice site I enjoyed on "memory" can be found here. It may not be directly Derren related (which is why it isn't listed in the psychology section), but I'm sure you'll find it interesting.
Lastly, we still have people prepared to send out copies of tapes of Derren's Mind Control 1, 2, 3 programs (all on one tape). Also, a tape containing Derren's new 6-part series, recorded from the special "Mind Control Night" on E4 (on another tape. The night was aired just before christmas). Derren's new 6-part series are planned to be aired on Channel 4 around this February (2003).
I'll see you next time!

A new piece of fanart has been added to the fanart page!
John, a Derren fan has some news for you hard-core Derren fans out there! A ten (yes, a whole ten) minutes of Derren can be found at the end of an Andy Nyman lecture. Seriously, if you're a mentalist or are looking to learn as much about Derren and his work as possible, then John assures me you can learn a lot from his Andy's lecture. The video is available here, and is called (quite controversially) the "Andy Nyman lecture" (honestly, who would have guessed?!) and costs £25.
A lot of people have emailed, requesting tapes of Derren's original Mind Control Specials (ie. Mind Control 1, 2 and 3, shown on channel4 around last year). The person in charge of distributing the tapes has asked me to point out:
"In case you don't know, all of Derren's shows are being aired on E4 over the Xmas period; all three of his Mind Control specials, and the whole of his new series too! Derren is also appearing on Jonathan Ross' chat show.
The dates and times are as follows:
Mind Control Show 1:
Fri 13-12-02: 2100 E4
Sat 14-12-02: 0105 E4
Sat 28-12-02: 0050 E4
Mind Control Show 2:
20-12-02: 2100 E4
21-12-02: 0045 E4
Friday Night With Jonathan Ross:
20-12-02: 2235 BBC1
22-12-02: 0020 BBC1
Derren Brown: Mind Control: Entire New Series:
24-12-02 2100 - 0010 E4
Mind Control Show 3:
27-12-02: 2100 E4
Let people know about this so they can set their VCRs and get all of this great stuff! I know I will "
I strongly recommend that you all set your VCRs (and for goodness sake, if you don't have E4, find a kind soul with E4 to tape them for you!). This is also because no more tapes will be distributed till the New Year -that is- until better recordings have been made of the MC shows.
OK! More about Derren's tour!
There are 4 (unofficially confirmed) places for Derren's tour:
Swansea, Swindon, Birmingham (hurray Birmingham!) and
Hastings.
Sources of the latter places 3 can be found here
and here.
Also, Proof that Derren has a national following: someone who
lives in Swansea has already booked their ticket for Derren's showing at the
Swansea Grand theatre on the 24th march 2003, 7.30pm. The person in question
says that tickets cost £8.50-£12.50 - depending on where the seats
are. Go to the theatre's
website to book your ticket now!
(Although there is no listing of Derren on the theatre's site, someone who
lives there says you can book your ticket now. Ring up - find out! Why not?!)
Well, unlike a TV news broadcaster, I can finish off the news
with any thought which crosses my mind - therefore, I shall say - Have a great
Christmas (to those of you it applies to around the world!). Hope you had a
great 2002. Drink lots, be merry, and have a great New Year's eve! I am off
to find myself somewhere to live next year (don't ask!) and to attend my very
first "Work Christmas Party". I suppose a free bar can't be all bad...(!)
I shall see you all in 2003.
Farewell, until we meet again...
Si
