Derren still has a keen interest in portraiture and is currently organising an exhibition for his work In the late nineties Michael Vine (now Derren's manager) flew up from London to see Jerry Sadowitz in Glasgow (managed by Michael at the time) to catch one of his performances, as he was doing a week at a venue called "The Tunnel". For some two years Michael and his business partner, Andrew O'Connor, had been looking for a mind reader that they could introduce to Channel Four.
